TU Tuesday - Local

http://www.guilderlandspotlight.com/news/2012/may/28/market-market-buy/

To market, to market to buy ...

Not that spring is coming there are more farmers markets opening. Most recently CDPHP just opened this years farmers market. "This is the market’s fifth year and with seven new vendors added to the lineup, it’s also its largest yet." Farmers markets offer a variety of everything which is why they are popular "from fresh produce to baked goods to handmade bath products and jewelry.". There are some new vendors this year like "Allan Ditton Pottery (handmade pottery), Bakeforu (cookies, scones and cupcakes), Dutch Desserts (European-style fruit tarts), Honeybee Farm (cheeses, eggs, garlic, honey and hummus), Ali Hermann Artwork & Jewelry (handmade pieces) and Scarecrow Farm (wool, yarn, honey, eggs and assorted vegetables). " A really nice thing about farmers markets all around the district not just the CDPHP ones is that they all offer "fresh, local food".

6.Should Memorial Day be a time to remember only veterans or all those who have died?

Memorial day should be about celebrating both. They both fought side by side and did as much work as the other and deserve as much credit although the dead have given up more than the living. Regardless of what happened they both should be honored for the fact that they served our country.

What is Crippling Us?

Gatto presents his claim with personal experience and his own personal findings. Bradbury creates his own personal world set in the future based off societies trends at the current time. I'm more persuaded by Bradbury to believe him because he makes valid points especially because of how close the world he depicted is to mdern day. The gang fights today relate to how Clarisse was scared of her own age. "I'm afraid of children my own age. They kill each other. Did it always used to be that way? My uncle says no. Six of my friends have been shot in the last year alone. Ten of them died in car wrecks. I'm afraid of them and they don't like me because I'm afraid. My uncle says his grandfather remembered when children didn't kill each other. But that was a long time ago when they had things different."(30) Another aspect I agree with is how people seem to forget the small things in hte world. "'Bet I know something else you don't. There's dew on the grass in the morning.' He suddenly couldn't remember if he had known this or not, and it made him quite irritable.
'And if you look'—she nodded at the sky—'there's a man in the moon.' He hadn't looked for a long time." (9) Bradbury gives you metaphors and a story behind his thoughts on society which make them easier to connect to than Gatto's blatant facts. Gatto talks alot about the history of schooling "Mass schooling of a compulsory nature really got its teeth into the United States between 1905 and 1915, though it was conceived of much earlier and pushed for throughout most of the nineteenth century" He clearely researched his topic and attacked it from the right points, by studying the history to find where we are now. He also quotes Alexander Inglis's 1918 book, Principles of Secondary Education when he said "School is meant to determine each student's proper social role" which I can completely agree with. In school you learn  about your options after high school and where you could take your life. You learn what you want to be when you're older while you're in school and you carry that with you when you leave high school.

I would choose Bam Margera because hes absolutley amazing and he seems like he would be the chillest dad. I would want two dads because I feel like thats something people should embrace and not be afraid to raise kids in that environment so I would also choose Travis Pastrana because I love dirt biking and riding and being able to just go crazy.

TU Tuesday - Commencement Speech.

http://www.graduationwisdom.com/speeches/0086-obrien.htm
http://www.graduationwisdom.com/speeches/0091-washington.htm

Conan talked alot about life lessons. I foudnwhat said to be extremely true even though I may not have much experience."One’s dream is constantly evolving, rising and falling, changing course". When I was little I wanted to be a science teacher. Now I want to be a doctor. Our interestes change in life."It is our failure to become our perceived ideal that ultimately defines us and makes us unique" This is a quote I found very inspiring because it is so true. If everyone was perfect at what they did they would all be the same.He also talked alot about being prepared for failure. "whether you fear it or not, disappointment will come" He was very positive about all of it though and talked very deeply from personal experience.
"Work hard, be kind, and amazing things will happen" Kindess can go a long way. I agree with everything that Conan pointed out here. As Denzel Washington said "If you don’t fail, you’re not even trying". These speeches are made to give them inspiration and insight into the world they're about to enter. I believe everything they've pointed out is true.

What are these people celebrating?
They've just won the lottery and bought the biggest bed they could find with the fluffiest pillows and had the best pillow fight of their life. They'll burn out their savings pretty quick on useless junk and eventually become broke.

Creative Contest III

let the wild rumpus start

Communism

Communism is the idea of having a classless, moneyless and stateless social order. The idea came from Karl Marx and Vladmir Lennin. I can't say I totally agree with their thoughts. In communism you need to keep a lot of secrets from your people and classes can't just be controled by money. People judge others on more than just money. Traveling would also be quite difficult if you live in a communist country and then take a trip to one that uses currency. I feel that if communism would work it would have to use people who dont know any other way to live.

TU Tuesday Classified

http://timesunion.kaango.com/ad-6-year-old-lab-german-shepherd-mix/20572814

I remember the day we first got Anna. Potty Training her was diificult. She would go anywhere, even our my bed! She's like the average dog, not very obiediant but she knows most of them . We weren't too strict with her and the rules. She learned what was good enough to control and that was fine with us. every night she would curl up at the foot of my bed and cuddle with my calf muscles, she "loves to cuddle". I remember when we tried to bring Rio the cat into our house with Anna. We had Anna for about a year when my little sister wanted a cat for christmas. My parents brought in this gorgeous tiger like cat who was very active and playful. Maybe Anna felt like she was being replaced or something but she wouldn't let Rio out of a room. We had to bring Rio back because we felt it was unfair for Anna to have to go if she was here first.

Everyday when we got home from school Anna's tail would be waggling like crazy. She always greeted us as soon as we came in the door. It's like she had so much energy she couldn't contain it. We would always"be greeted with enthusiasm and exuberant body wiggling and tail wagging.". That was just Anna's way of saying hello. I'm gonna miss her now that we're going to have to get rid of her. My dad got laid off so now we have to move into and apartment. It's been six months since he got the pink slip and theres no pets allowed at the apartments. I think my little sister is most sad by the fact of Anna leaving. She's never been without Anna. Mom tried so hard to find a place that would let us keep Anna. Anna has some trust issues though with men so moving to a new place and having to meet new people might be too much of a burden for Anna rather than finding a new permanent home. I hope Anna finds a good place, and a good person will take care of her.

Q=Quesadillas

2 tortilla shelss
1 bag of shredded four cheese
1 sliced cooked chicken breast

1) Take two tortilla shells and put one on a plate
2) Generously sprinkle cheese on the shell, enough to cover the shell.
3) Take sliced chicked and place on the cheese then add another layer of cheese
4) take the other shell and place on the top and heat in the microwave for 3 min.

My dad and I make Quesadillas all the time and something I've completely gotten used to on left over nights. We have these at least once every 2 weeks. My dad and I are super close so this is just another thing we share.

Famous Poem Starters

But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep. You can't always live off other people like a leech, you must do your own work at some point. You have to get up an never give up. If you give up you lose more than your goal. Never stop striving, never stopbeliving. It's easier said than done...

Nursery Rhymes ARE Relevant to Life

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~pfa/dreamhouse/nursery/rhymes/swim.html

"Mother, may I go out to swim?"
"Yes, my darling daughter.
Fold your clothes up neat and trim,
But don't go near the water."

Thi connects to my life because sometimes it feels like I ask my mom if I can gout or do something and she changes the entire point of me going out or the idea my friends and I had planned. It can get really confusing and frustating most of the time.

Butterfly

Mistakes are what make us human
Between simply spilling milk
Or mispronouncing something during a speech
Everyone makes mistakes

Once I made a water baloon
It contained about a gallon of water
Silly I know but popped on our new kitchen
Ruined some of the new wood

This probably sounds ridiculous
But it really was a big mistake
I ended up being grounded to my room
For quite some time

But was beautiful about this
Was I drew pictures the whole time
I filled an entire sketch book
Full of beautiful thoughts

Tim O'Brien

Tim O'Brien is a writer for transportation, the town of Colonie, and recently retail. He was born and raised on long island and got an interest in becoming a reporter from his mother. "I've got my mother's interest in news. The one time of day you couldn't talk to her was the half hour when the evening news was on, so I guess that's why I became a reporter" He went to college at the University of Scranton which turned out to be pretty good trainging for him. "I was taught by Jesuits, who tell you to question everything. Good training for a reporter."
The article I read was about allowing knives during air travel. As someone who travels alot this would be nice. One point made was in defense against hi-jackers "passengers would be able to stop any would-be terrorists if everyone was allowed to bear a blade on board" Another point made was to "make air travel safer and save time in airports". Personally as someone who travels alot I dont think this is a bad idea.

P= Pizza Gram

My restaurant is Pizza Gram. Pizza Gram is located on Western Ave. near Carman Rd. On wednesdays you get the choice of either chicken parm or eggplant parm with either ziti or linguini. it's only $7.99 and then with your drink it rounds it out to around $10. You get sooo much food for this little cost, the piee of chicken is usually bigger than your face. It's really worth it. A con would be that the line is usually half an hour long to get in but a pro is you get served very quickly. Since they're right on western my firnds and I tend to go bowling across the street when we're done. The atmosphere there is so friendly it's something nice to wlook forward to every week. I highly recomend it.

The Book that Changed My Life.

A book that has changed my life believe or it has been Dr.Suess' Oh the Places You'll Go. This book speaks to me because my grandpa used to read it to me all the time because it was hte onnly childrens book in his house. I keep a copy of it in my room because I still like to read it every now and then. The book really talks about keeping your head up and not giving up regardless of wait may be in your path. It motivates me sometimes in life and the main hcaracter really doesnt even have a name, it's like you are the main character.

Bucket List

1) Go back to Greece-I took a trip over febreuary break to Athens and I loved it so much, I would love to go back htere during summer or spend a year abroad there or anything just to go back.

2)Become a doctor- I really like helping other people and becoming a trauma doctor seems like it would such an iteresting thing to do, you'll experience something new everyday

3)Get a jet-ski- My family has a camp on hte St. Lawerence river and I always see jet-skis, the freedom of them beats having a boat and I'm getting my boating liscense this summer.

4)See a Shooting star- I love stars and any chance I get I love to sleep outside underneath them but I still havent seen a shooting star.

5)Get on Tv- I dont have to be famous or anything but if I could get my face on Tv I would be pretty amazed

6)Swim in the Dead Sea- The difference of densities in the water at the Dead Sea makes you float more so swimming there would be something unlike anythinge else and seems like an unforgettable experience

7) Learn to do Hip-hop dancing- I've never learned to dance adn the most I can do is spin in a circle. I'd love to learn how to do real dance moves to my favorite music.

8)Go Fire Walking- It's where you walk over a hot bed of embers, I feel like it would give me some bragging rights.

9)Go zorbing- Zorbing is where you get inside a giant inflatable ball and hold onto these handles/straps on the inside and then you roll down a hill. It sounds super fun.

10) Go on a zero gravity flight- The pilot does this weird manuver in the sky where you will become weightless like in outserspace. It sounds like another super fun thing that I would love love love to try.

 La Rage
Keny Arkana

English:

Ok, we've got the rage, and Im not talking about rabies.
Ask Fab, life is cliciking like our heels on the cobbles.
The rage to see our goals being blocked, the rage to live across.
The rage that is ingrained since long ago.
The rage for having grown too fast,
when adults have stolen your childhood.
BAM! Imagine a racing car and a wall...
The rage, for impossible is this so much desired peace.
The rage, to see all those armed MDP's in our streets.
The rage, to see this world in self-destruction,
With innocent people always at the center of fires.
The rage, for it's MAN who built each wall,
who has locked himself in concrete, is he afraid of nature?
The rage, for he's forgotten that he belongs to nature.
And it's a deep disharmony, to which world did the dove fly?
The rage, to be lashed at by society's norms.
At the rage, the rage for having the rage since we were a child.
Because we've got the rage.
We'll stand up, no matter what happens.
The rage.
To go through, to the end where life drives us Because we've got the rage.
We'll neither shut up, nor sit down, for now we'll be ready.
Because we've got the rage, the heart and faith.
Because we've got the rage.
We'll stand up, no matter what happens.
The rage.
To go through, to the end where life drives us
Because we've got the rage.
Nothing could stop us,
insubordinate, wise dissident, humanist, or rebel.
The Rage
For we choose nothing and always submit
And as their choices are shaky,
the whole balance sods off.
The rage,
for the irreparable has been piling up for a long time.
The Rage because:
what do we wait for standing up and kicking up a fuss?
The rage,
it is all that is left to us anyway, all that is left.
The rage,
how many of us will end up betraying?
The will to live, and to live the present moment, to choose our future,
free and free of their oppression plans.
The rage,
for its a bloody mess that everyone sticks to,
and for their GMO fields sterilize the earth.
The rage, for one day we break up the chain.
The rage, for too many people think that TV tells the truth.
The rage, for this world does not suit us.
but does feed us with false dreams and true ramparts
The rage, for this world does not fit us.
And Babylon grows fat and starves us to death.
Because we've got the rage.
We'll stand up, no matter what happens.
The rage.
To go through, to the end where life drives us
Because we've got the rage.
We'll neither shut up, nor sit down, for now we'll be ready.
Because we've got the rage, the heart and faith.
Because we've got the rage.
We'll stand up, no matter what happens.
The rage.
To go through, to the end where life drives us
Because we've got the rage.
Nothing could stop us,
insubbordinate, wise dissident, humanist, or rebel.
The Rage,
to keep the faith and try to move
The rage, in front of a Chirac, a Sharon, a Blair or a Bush
The rage, because the world looks at life through red-tinted glasses,
but takes a black view of things,
and because they hear the cries when it bleeds.
The Rage, for it's worst that we skim.
The rage, for the western world still wears it's colonial dress.
The rage, because the evil strikes too much.
And the ancestral knowledge is not updated anymore.
The rage, too much lies and hidden secrets,
the elites of our rich of truths states could change mankind.
The rage, for they do not want it to change, hey?
The prefer handling the power and handling us as their tools.
The rage, for we believe in angles and decided to march with them.
The rage, for my remarks are disturbing.
Watch at the peoples' rage, seething with unrest from every corner of the world.
The rage, yeah the rage, or the revolution's essence?
Because we've got the rage.
We'll stand up, no matter what happens.
The rage.
To go through, to the end where life drives us
Because we've got the rage.
We'll neither shut up, nor sit down, for now we'll be ready.
Because we've got the rage, the heart and faith.
Because we've got the rage.
We'll stand up, no matter what happens.
The rage.
To go through, to the end where life drives us
Because we've got the rage.
Nothing could stop us.
insubordinate, wise dissident, humanist, or rebel.
The Rage,
Because we've got the rage.
Anti-Capitalist, alter-mondialist,
or you who searches truth about this world,
Tomorrow's resistance, inch'allah
on the eve of worldwide and spiritual revolution,
The rage of the people, the rage of the people
[Spanish] La rabia del pueblo
Because we've got the rage, the one that will make your norms tremble
Because we've got the rage, the rage has over-come the rabble, and the rage is huge.

"Police say the Queens mother, who does not have custody of the child, fled the hospital with the infant while the foster mother and a doctor were speaking in another room." What I want to know is what was the mother thinking and where is she going to go with an 8 month old baby. If she wanted to keep the baby she should have not had it go to a foster mom. If they baby was in an unsafe environment they should not have left the mother alone with the child. It's not like this is a case of immature 20 year old mom or anything the biological mother is 40 years old. The poor foster mom too, she must have lost all trust for the biological mother. Now this mother is on the run with an 8 month old baby and I feel like the chances of catching her are slim.

SCRUPLES

The fish have not been biting all day. You finally land one that is one inch under the official limit. Do you throw it back?

Yes you do. I have a camp on the St. Lawerence River and theres some pretty intense fishing going on up there. But no matter what they always keep it fair. An inch is actually quite a length when it comes to fish. sometimes the fish just dont bite and theres always tomorrow and thats just how itworks, end of story, no questions asked.

I read Stephen Leslie's piece and I really liked it. The only thing I noticed that seemed a bit off was that it had a repatitive touch to it when he kept mentioning the gangs. If this is an important part of the piece then it doesnt have to be taken out cause the repepitiveness of the gang mentions make them seem important like they are always on the main characters mind. The things about the water heaters is so creative .  T"he big prize is the hot water heater.  If it is full it gives me enough water for months" who would've ever thought to bring this up in a piece. It such an out there thing it's almost hard to believe someone would just think of that in their spare time. It seems pretty cool.

O=8 People to Emulate

Orlando Bloom- My bestfriend Emily and I used to be absolutely in love with this guy. We were huge Pirates of the Carribean fans and of course Orlando Bloom was one of the big names in those movies. I later read in an article a few months ago that he let his wife name one thier kids after one of her exboyfriends. He seemed like such a cool guy in the movies. Especially in thesword fighting scene in the first movie and now hes growing a family. It seems so weird to look back on that but that'd be a cool thing to tell your kids. Maybe I could be as chill as him one day.

Conan O'Brien- He's hilarious and I would watch him much more often if he were on at an earlier time. It's a shame he got screwed over with the whole Jay Leno thing. Team Coco for life.

Barak Obama- He overcame alot being the first african-american president. Although I wouldn't want to be president he worked very hard for what he has now and I admire that.

Colby O'Donis- Hes a pretty unknown popstar but he gets the ladies. He won  a teen choice award with Lady Gaga for singing in Just Dance. I've known him for a while cause I've seen him on Brooke Knows Best. He has an amazing singing voice, I wish I could sing like that.

Oprah!- Shes quite rich and quite the figure head for many people. My mom loves her and always had her on when she used to have her T.V. show. Oprah is so strong especially for dealing with so many other peoples problems. My favorite shows were her favorite gifts. I hope to be able to give like that to other people one day.

Olivia Wilde- Shes so gorgeous, and shes dating Jason Sudeikis,  a hilarious cast member on Saturday Night Live. Although she had a divorce after 8 years to her exhusband she's clearly rose from the ashes and I admire that although I'd like to skip the divorce part if I could in my life.

Oscar Dela Hoya- He was a professional boxer, I love boxing and think its a great way to stay fit, although I have been skipping out on my training recently. He must have had a lot of dedication to this and I hope I could find that somewhere in me so I could get up off my lazy butt.

Osi Umenyiora- The defensive end for the New York giants. He makes mad money and is doing something he enjoys doing. That's gonna be me one day, just wihtout being a football player.

TU Tuesday - Culture *Late

http://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Giant-Olympics-rings-launched-on-River-Thames-3367282.php

"Giant Olympic rings floated down the Thames River in London to mark 150 days until the start of the Summer Games." England has not hosted the Olympics since the 1948 summer olympics. Imagine the pride this country must have to finally be hosting after 60+ years. "London Mayor Boris Johnson launched the spectacle as he announced free cultural and entertainment events" London seems extremely proud and prepared. In the poem To an Athlete Dying Young by Alfred Edward Housman he talks about pride."The time you won your town the race, We chaired you through the market-place; Man and boy stood cheering by, And home we brought you shoulder-high." And then he talks about defending an award. "The fleet foot on the sill of shade, And hold to the low lintel up, The still-defended challenge-cup." The last summer olympics England came in fourth with 19 gold 13 silver and 15 bronze for a total of 47 medals. Maybe they'll manage to do better this year or at least hold onto what they've got.

Valentines Day *Late

I know he loves me because he holds the door open. He holds the door open everyday for me. Like he's inviting me for a party or a special get-together. I know this might seem silly, knowing someone loves just because they hold the door open but it's been 34 years and he stilll holds the door open everytime I get home. Just think this all started years ago in the classroom everyday. I know he loves me because he holds the door open, still 34 years later and I never over look it.

The alarm clock cannot defend itself

Untitled

The alarm clock cannot defend itself
From the slamming hands
The morning groans
And the night owls

The alarm clocks only friend is
The early riser
The morning man
And the early dawn awakener

Why should the ngiht owls
Become mad at the alarm
When it's simply doing the job
That you instructed it to do

And for the early dawn awakeners
That morning sound of
Buzz Buzz Buzz
Is what they look forward to

Every
Night

Comic Connection

This comic relates to my life because I used to LOVE calvin and hobbs as a kid and it really helped me pass the time. The strips where he showed calvin being some diferent animal or like spaceman spiff, and crash landing on some alien planet even though he jsut in his sand box really inspired me to be creative and use my imagination. Just like in this strip Calvin is in his own little world and I often felt like that too. In this one Calvin's also being rather subborn, another big trait of mine.

pep talk

Conquer today

This relates to my life because I just believe in taking it one day at a time and to deal with stuff when it happens. I hate being anxious about something so I put it off till I have to deal with it. That might seem like procrastination but life's too short to have to be worried and concerned and crying. Take it one day at a time and live it to the fullest. Enjoy every day with no regrets. :)

Original Poems III

Free Verse
Untitled
If I can make you happy
This is where I belong
I belong with you
because you care
everyday feels like
the first day we met
Your humor your looks
your charm your personality
everything is you
I breath you
I live off you
I thrive from you
you are where I belong

Rainbow poem
Untitled

Red like my shoes
Orange as my earings
Yellow as my bracelet
Green as my earing
Blue as my eyes
Indigo like my belt
And biolet as my dress

This sunny day
I'll walk down the street
Displaying the colors
That all describe me
I hope all gaze
At the rainbow girl
As she shares her freedom

Tarzanelle
Untitled

I like your smile
It's brighter than most
Like it's got it's own style

You're not one to boast
I know that by now
It's brighter than most

You are just wow
Theres no words to describe you
I know that by now

You make people wonder who
Who is that girl
Theres no words to describe you

Pretty as pearl
You brighten everyones day
Who is that girl

And I get what I like
I like your smile
It's got its own psych
Like it's got it's own style

Original Poems II

Sestina
A moment

Will your name exist forever
Will you be known for your love
Were you loyal in your friendship
Did you have lots of laughter
Did you live your full life
Or were you there alone

I hope you didn't live all alone
Your personality is lasting forever
And so is your life
I hope you fell in love
And got out some laughter
With every friendship

I hope you were loyal in your friendship
Never leaving eachother alone
Always cheering up with laughter
And supporting eachother forever
As only friends could love
And traveling together through life

And here we sit asking you how was your life
And your moments of friendship
And your moments of love
And your moments of being alone
And your moments of wishing for forever
And your moments of laughter

How much did you enjoy your laughter
How much did you enjoy your life
Do you think you would enjoy it forever
How much did you enjoy your friendship
Would you enjoy being alone
How much did you enjoy love

I pray you always have love
I pray you always have laughter
I pray you're never alone
I pray you have life
I pray you have friendship
I pray you wont be stuck here forever

You're not alone, we had love
You're not here forever, but remember our laughter
You're gonna live your life, we'll make do with our friendship

Ladder
A cough

Germ
after germ
you are attacked
by all the infestations
of every illness thats known
You pass them on
through a handshake
a hug

Original Poems I

WHERE I'M FROM
I am from chips, from lays and doritos.
I am from the rural, hardowrking, fresh air scented.
I am from the maple trees, roses, and moss, the algea, daisies, and pink petals
I am from weekly vacations and curly hair, from Robert and Katherine and Butler.
I am from the night owls and procrastinators.
From thank you for saying thank you and dont touch that.
I am from care free religions and beliefs.
I'm from Ireland, potatos and chicken.
From the crazy sayings of Nana god love ya. the if I known I was gonna live this old I would have taken better care of myself, and the lessons learned by sister that I've continued to use to this day, like always keep your locker locked.
I am from corner in the living room, the mantle, the bookshelves of binders of pictures, almost as if they deserve no lock like we show them off to whom ever may walk through this house.

Vocabulary On My Mind

The young girl could aspire to anything, she had superfluous amounts of knoweldege. She wasn't obtuse and was very adulate to studying. She would study till it would become deleterious and was never berated about her grades. To many others it was an enigma as to how she was doing so well. She wasnt indolent, or toady, or pretentious. She wasn't a narcissist but often debunked her teachers. her personality was lackluster and far from effervescent. She was cantankerous and often deprecated others works. She had no other adversary other than herself. Often discordant she would upbraid anything she could. She had eloquence and was grandiloquent in her works and she wrote them very gingerly making sure to not make any mistakes. This young lady was avid about her education, her mind was intractable. Her heedful personality got her many places in life.

What I Need to Know about WRITING AND WRITERS to Become a Better Writer

Overall these speakers made me want to focus on any career choice I may have. They talked about how hard it is to get published and how hard it is to get royalties and what not. Lahtough our questions was about what made you choose the genre that you did, I' be interesting to throw in how pay or how easy it was to get published into htat equation, like if it was easier to publish non-fiction over poetry but you liked poetry more what would you have chosen? I  think this would be a cool topic because its something you dont hear much about.

Round FOUR=Marni Gillard

In Marni Gillards peice The High Dive I liked that she stretched out words because it really gave her a voice "I got back in line, all shiiiiiiivery. Red, white and blue toy soldiers marched across the elasticized front of my suit." In My Artistic Journey with HIGH DIVE I liked that she put fourth a sense of experience "I learned that the art of storytelling means letting the audience co-create with you. I had felt particular audiences affect the way I told a fairytale, but this first personal tale really awakened me to improvisation." I liked the whole chapter and wouldnt get rid of anything. She does a very good job of explaining each reflection and how its shaped the story today and getting rid of any section could leave unexplained gaps. She clearly has told this story enough to memorize some of the words and feelings and this makes the story seem very real although she may have stretched the truth a bit on some parts. Overall it was an iteresting thing to read and then read the authors thoughts about it all.

Round Three= Mary Moriarty

My thought about One Art is that the way the lines are and how they almost to cut off mid-way through. "so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster. "
It helps the flow of the piece and makes it intersting to read.

How do you open
a time portal that you find in your backyard
how would it smell and look
if theres not even a date on it.

How do you open
a door to a haunted house
would it creak and skreech
if theres not even hinges on it.

How do you open
an old scar
how much would hurt or bleed
if theres not even a mark

When I read In the Backseat of My Mothers Car  it seemed to pass off a rather dark tone.
"I was calling to you – Daddy! – as we screeched away into
the distance, my own hand tingling like an amputation. "
It sounds like she was being pulled away from him and the way that the lines split the words into and the, it helps set the scene. During I Go Back to May 1937 You learn a lot about her life, like you get the idea that her parents are divorced;
"I want to go up to them and say Stop,
don’t do it—she’s the wrong woman,
he’s the wrong man"
In Fatherland you get the picture that she didn't grow up with her fatehr or at least a father figure;
" the fog of my childhood muddles the fatherless"
In Trackphoto it kind of proves that she's had some problems when it comes to her father;
" Now you are missing,
your urn pushed
into a stone wall
by your youngest son.  "
By reading her work you can learn alot about her life and she portrays that clearly in her peices.

2004 seems to have come and pass
I wish I remembered
this moment with you
I feel like we've grown apart

You're the anchor in my life
And I would be so lost
wihtout you by my side
to lead me through it all

No one can ever replace
I can't wait to gowup and have more memories
with you there with me
to walk me down the aisle

Round Two = Marilyn Kemp

Just by looking at the titles of Kemp's work you can tell she's into the dark mysteries. I read an excerpt from Death of A Dancing Master. Kemp is clearly very literate and it seems like its written in almost  a Sherlock Holmes stlye, " Perkney said he had an appointment, but the young man assumed Perkney said it in an effort to get rid of him.  No matter – the young man felt it his duty to tender an apology for his intemperate words, and apologize he would.". Kemp uses big words and a very interesting sentence structure with the way the words are placed and how it makes the story sound. and refering back to all the Titles this too seemed likea rather dark story.
Question 1: What made you choose this style of mystery over anything else
Question 2: What view are you aiming to give the reader as you right

Round One=Susan Cominos

Susan Cominos works as a freelance journalist and is the winner of the 2010 Yehuda Halevi Poetry Competition which is run by Tablet Magazine. Her work has been in  Forward, Judaism, Tikkun, Lilith, Calapooya and The Blueline Anthology which is a paper run by Syracuse UniversityShe also has work in Quarterly West. In her poem Beached, or demensia It kinda of has a rather dark tone to it;
"in its seaboiled soul. for this
i grow and swim? to mist i
lift my eyes on land. adrift

in absence, the brain—swell
upon swell—falls a slip. the pail’s
knocked over, the spade’s gone
"
In her poem "pecan, rodef, clam"
Her peoms also have very interesting stanza and line formats. She often cuts into a sentence as if she were counting the words on each line. Like in her poems pecan, rodef, clam  Beached, or demensia. This example is from pecan, rodef, clam;
"of roots, hung up
on earth. like a palmed
pit, disappeared
into its own
stone jacket. loony
seed
in a rooming house, even
halved, only
one twin per womb."
In the piece Covet I noticed that she likes to use an alomost medieval sounding voice or style to the piece;
"Thou shalt not
bear the winds higher
than they would blow. Thou shalt never
prick halls of glass
with a bow and arrow. Thou shalt fail
to sway the sky"
I also noticed in Covet  how the line and stanza formats are also seeming like they are cut off which ads an interesting voice to it;
"shalt bring in bees
from the hive, swear
allegiance to their stings – sing alone"

Question 1: What made you choose placing your lines and stnazas in a way that makes them continue on the next line?
Question 2: What made you concentrate in poetry or if you have other genres what made you choose them?
